Delhi Capitals have had a fantastic start to their IPL 2020 campaign as they have managed to win four out of the five games played so far.
Delhi Capitals are on the summit of the IPL 2020 points table with 8 points in 5 games so far. On Monday, the Delhi-based franchise beat Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 59 runs to register their fourth win of the season. Even after Chris Woakes pulling out of the tournament and Amit Mishra being ruled out due to injury, Delhi Capitals have shown great grit and determination.

Now, one of their key members, Ravichandran Ashwin has explained how Delhi Capitals have an extremely strong side.
“That’s one of the beauty of this particular Delhi side, even when my shoulder dislocated, Amit came in and played the role, now he is injured so Axar has come in and played the role. There is enough strength on our bench and sometimes when it comes to the IPL, the people coming out of that bench become very important, that bench is probably good enough to be another IPL team, it has got a lot of quality, I think Amit will be dearly missed, moving forward we will try to keep him happy at home,” Ravichandran Ashwin said during the post-match press conference.

“I think we have got a good side, everyone is putting their hand up, I thought we were a bit rusty initially getting into the tournament, even for me, it has taken me five games to get through the full quota of four overs, it has been quite an interesting year. I bowled four overs for the first time in this year’s IPL, the biggest positive is that there is still a lot of room for improvement so I think we will get there at the backend of the tournament,” Ravichandran Ashwin further said.
Delhi Capitals To Take On Rajasthan Royals Up Next
Delhi Capitals will now take on Rajasthan Royals on October 9 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. Delhi Capitals have now gone on the summit of the 2020 points table displacing the four-time IPL champions, Mumbai Indians. DC, now have 8 points in the 5 games they have played so far. Mumbai Indians follow them on the second spot with 6 points in 5 matches.

The sad news for Delhi, however, is the fact that their veteran leg-spinner, Amit Mishra, has been ruled out of the entire tournament due to a finger injury he sustained against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
