Ravindra Jadeja is playing arguably the best innings of his life in the ongoing World Cup semifinal against New Zealand. At a time when it looked all over for India, Ravindra Jadeja has reignited their hopes with a stunning fifty. Chasing 240, India were in all sorts of trouble after their reliable top-order failed.
Matt Henry drew the first blood by accounting for the in-form Rohit Sharma in his very first over. Rohit Sharma, who had scored three consecutive tons before this game, was out for just 1 after edging a brilliant delivery from Henry behind the stumps. And even before India could recover from the huge setback, Boult dealt a huge blow to India by dismissing Virat Kohli.
After New Zealand's blistering start, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya have rebuilt well.
India are 60/4 after 18 overs, needing a further 180 to win from 32 overs.

And as if those twin blows were not enough, Henry accounted for KL Rahul to leave India reeling at 5 for 3 in the 4th over. India now need to play out of their skin to beat New Zealand and make it to the final. At the time of writing this report, India landed in further trouble with Dinesh Karthik departing too. India were 24 for 4 after ten overs.
Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant added 47 runs before departing in quick succession to leave India 6 down for 92. This is when Ravindra Jadeja joined MS Dhoni in the middle and revived India’s hopes. While Dhoni played the second fiddle as usual, Ravindra Jadeja kept hitting the big shots. He scored his fifty off just 39 balls.
And as soon as he reached his fifty, the cricketing world heaped praise on him. Here are some of the best reactions:
