Royal Challengers Bangalore have issued a clarification on the fireworks shown in the clip they posted on their skipper Virat Kohli’s birthday. The India skipper has faced criticism from all around for asking others not to burst crackers on the occasion of Diwali.
Virat Kohli posted a clip on his Twitter handle to wish his fans on the auspicious occasion. After wishing everyone a happy Diwali, he decided to don the environmentalist’s hat. Virat Kohli asked everyone not to burst crackers and celebrate Diwali with a ‘simple diya and sweets’.
“A very happy Diwali from me to you and your families. May god bless you with peace, prosperity and happiness this Diwali,” Virat Kohli said in the video.
“Please remember do not burst crackers to protect the environment and have fun at home with your loved ones with a simple diya and sweets on this auspicious occasion,” he added.
He was slammed by the fans for telling them how to celebrate their festival and some also called him out for his hypocrisy. The fans were quick to remind him of his birthday celebration earlier this month in the UAE. RCB had posted a clip in which the captain was seen enjoying his birthday with a fireworks show.
