As per the recent reports, Team India skipper Virat Kohli will be flying to Ireland and is expected to be available owing to the selection for the two-match Twenty20 International series against hosts.
The 29-year-old will be available for both matches as per a news report in the Times of India. The report suggests that he will be on the flight to Ireland on 23rd June.
The star batsman will accompany with all other Indian cricketers and will be available for selection for both T20I’s.
Kohli is currently suffering from a neck injury. It was this injury which ruled him out of the county stint with Surrey. He was slated to play three first-class matches and three List A matches for the county team before the England tour.
The earlier stint had ruled him out of the first T20I against Ireland due to his county commitments. However, with the neck injury ruling him out, Kohli will be available for both the matches.
The news of Kohli’s participation in the two matches T20I series against Ireland will surely please the crowd. He is one of the modern greats and there are not a single people who don’t love watching him bat.

“Surrey was an option; the England tour is a responsibility. He’s taken a break whenever there was a need for it. That’s why he sat out of the last T20 in South Africa and did not play in the Nidahas Trophy. It shows that priorities are well in place. It’s unfortunate that Virat hasn’t been able to leave for Surrey but recovering fully in time is the more important thing,” a source told who is close to the events was quoted as saying by the Times India.
Meanwhile, Kohli has returned to training on Wednesday (May 30) at the Indoor Sports Complex of the Bandra Kurla Complex in Mumbai. He was present there with Team India assistant coach Sanjay Bangar.
However, as it looks it will take some time for Kohli to get back to a normal routine.
Delhi-born batsman Kohli is slated to undergo a fitness test. It is scheduled to be held on 15th June at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. It will decide whether he will be available for the limited-overs series in Ireland and England.
The magnitude of the injury is not so much that Virat Kohli will miss international duties.
