Delhi Capitals have completed a tense 18-run win against Kolkata Knight Riders in what was another six-hitting fest at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Sunday.
It was yet another day in Sharjah where bowlers were reduced to a machine hand with almost every batsmen having a gala time in sending the ball out of the stadium. It was a day where if you are a batsman, you would kick yourself in the guts and be heavily disappointed with yourself if you fail to make optimum use of the conditions.
And, the same case was with Delhi Capitals swashbuckler, Rishabh Pant, whose emotions got the better of him as he cussed at himself after he holed out at wide long-on in an attempt to nail Andre Russell for a helicopter shot.
Pant had made a decent contribution by the time he was dismissed as he smashed a rapid 17-ball 38, which included five fours and one six, three of which came against Andre Russell.
Fortunately for Rishabh Pant, his dismissal did not cost Delhi Capitals as skipper Shreyas Iyer ensured that the innings got a late flourish, eventually ending at 4-227.
The Capitals eventually defended the target despite a late scare from Eoin Morgan to establish themselves at the numero-uno spot in the points table.
