Rishabh Pant, for his age, has taken some serious criticism. He came under scrutiny for throwing away his wickets time and again, after being touted as India’s first-choice wicket-keeper batsman, but not making the most of his chances. However, senior players from the Indian cricket team, have continued to back him.
After being groomed to replace MS Dhoni across formats, Rishabh Pant recently lost his place to KL Rahul, for his poor glove-work and shot selection. However, the period might work as a break for the Delhi batsman to regain momentum, and build on to his confidence.

Rishabh Pant will be dangerous: Mohammed Shami
Rishabh Pant has displayed his batting prowess to the fore in the shortest format. He has been instinctive about his shot selections but some poor shots has cost him merry. However, senior India fast bowler Mohammed Shami, has backed him as an ‘amazing talent’. Shami believes Pant will be dangerous once he restores confidence in himself.

“Rishabh’s talent is amazing and it is not like he is my friend that is why I am saying. It is just about confidence, the day he got that confidence, he will be very dangerous,” Mohammed Shami said during Instagram live session.
Pant has a batting average of 26.71 in ODIs and 20.51 in the shortest format. He has played 13 Tests and averages 38.76 in the longest format. However, he will again have to reinstate and find his natural game to make a comeback in the national team.
