Rishabh Pant was touted to fill in the big boots of MS Dhoni across formats. Former chief selector MSK Prasad had set-up special grooming sessions for him. But despite all the efforts, Pant failed to grab the opportunity with both hands, as his lose shots came under severe scrutiny and was criticised to the fore.

Moreover, Pant who threw away his wicket time and again, lost his place to KL Rahul. The Karnataka batsman proved his mettle batting in different positions and made the selection difficult for his Delhi teammate.

Pant has failed to find consistency. Even though he has been given too many chances for his poor effort. Former Australia spinner Brad Hogg believes the wicket-keeper batsman has too much talent too know what to do with it and suggests him to find a mind coach for better understanding of himself.

“I turn my television when Rishabh Pant comes to the crease, the entertainer. His issue is that he has too much talent to know what to do with it. He could do with a mind coach, a lot of great sportsmen use them. It is all in the mind for him,” Brad Hogg said.
