In what should come as great news to all Delhi Capitals fans, dynamic wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has recovered from his injury and he is likely to take part in his sides’ fixture against Kings XI Punjab on Tuesday.
According to a source quoted by news agency ANI, Pant completed all his training sessions without any difficulty and he is likely to make a comeback against KXIP. The final call on the same will be taken before the toss.
“He has been working closely with the physio and trainer and has completed sessions without any trouble and is fit. A final call is expected to be taken before toss but Pant is likely to play against Punjab,” a DC source told news agency ANI.
Rishabh Pant had got injured during the Delhi Capitals encounter against the Rajasthan Royals in Sharjah and has since then missed three games.
DC won two out of three games in Rishabh Pant’s absence
An injury to Pant had forced the team-management to rejig their batting order with Ajinkya Rahane coming in for the injured swashbuckler and Alex Carey replacing Shimron Hetmyer.
The Capitals lost their first game against defending champions, Mumbai Indians, in Pant’s absence but since then they have recovered to notch up consecutive wins against Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings.
Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals are currently on 14 points and a win against KXIP on Tuesday will help them officially seal a spot in the 2020 IPL playoffs.
