Yuzvendra Chahal has come a long way since his impressive spell of 2/9 in 3 overs during the Champions League T20 final against Royal Challengers Bangalore helped Mumbai Indians lift the title in 2013. In the following season, he got a contract from Royal Challengers Bangalore and he has not looked back since then.

In addition to becoming the spin spearhead of Royal Challengers, the leg-spinner has also made a huge progress in international cricket. Earlier this year, he destroyed England with his spell of 6 for 25 in the T20I which helped India to win the three-match series 2-1. An average outing in this year’s Indian Premier League saw him losing his place in the team but he recently returned to the team during the Sri Lanka series and made his mark straightaway. He took 5 wickets in the ODIs before playing a huge role in the one-off T20I. His 3-wicket haul helped the Men in Blue to claw their way back into the game after the Sri Lankan batsmen made a blazing start. Virat Kohli & Co. had gone on to win the game to complete a historic ‘tour wash’.

No doubt then that Chahal has become one of the most sought after players in the country right now. However, despite achieving so much, the leg-spinner has not forgotten his humble roots and still lives in his same old house with his parents.

Here are some photographs of his house:

Chahal’s father KK Chahal, an advocate in Jind district of Haryana, had once revealed that he had prepared a pitch for his son on an agricultural land after discovering that he was not interested in studies.

So far, Chahal has represented India in 7 ODIs and as many T20Is, taking 25 wickets in total.
