The past decade witnessed One-Day cricket grow leaps and bounds with the International Cricket Council (ICC) bringing a handful of changes to the game. The players also took their game to a whole new level putting their best foot forward for their national team. Meanwhile, as the decade came to an end, out of bound Team India cricketer Robin Uthappa has picked his ODI team with former India skipper MS Dhoni as the captain.
Uthappa went in with two of the most destructive openers of the white-ball cricketer as his openers – India’s Rohit Sharma and West Indies’s Chris Gayle. Both of them were powerhouses throughout the decade, and the name was enough to send tremors down the spine of the bowlers. Current India skipper Virat Kohli will walk into any playing XI, and Robin Uthappa’s best ODI team is no different. Kohli is currently the most prolific run-scorers in ODI cricket and is the best to break Sachin Tendulkar’s record of highest ODI runs.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma’s middle-order consists of Australia’s Steve Smith, South Africa’s AB de Villiers, and India’s Yuvraj Singh. It has been an outstanding decade for Smith who started as a leg-spinner and then went to finish it as one of the best batters in world cricket. De Villiers, who shocked the world with his retirement news in 2018, is another prolific run-scorer alongside former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh, who is the icing on the cake.
MS Dhoni, who is the only skipper to win all three ICC titles and the best finisher in the world cricket will lead the Robin Uthappa’s ODI XI followed by Ben Stokes, who enjoyed a stellar run in 2019 helping England lift their maiden ICC World Cup title. New Zealand’s Daniel Vettori is the only spinner in the side with India’s Zaheer Khan and Sri Lanka’s Lasith Malinga shouldering the fast bowling duties.
