Australia fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has praised elegant Rohit Sharma and said that he never looks to smash the ball. It is no secret that Rohit Sharma has made shot-making look effortlessly easy. The opening batsman captivated the audience with his pull shot which often ends up in the second tier.

Rohit Sharma usually starts off slow and accelerates once he scores his century. He has been a joy to watch over the years. Moreover, Rohit Sharma is the only batsman to hit three double centuries in the ODI format, making it look like a cake walk.

Two of his three double tons have come against Sri Lanka with career-best score of 264 runs. By his own admission, Rohit Sharma has said that, if he stays in the crease for the first 10 overs it will be difficult to get him out.

Hazlewood said Rohit Sharma plays the back of a length delivery or anything short with ease. Adding it is these areas where he is the best at. The premier fast bowler also added that the opener never looks to bludgeon the ball and is pure class especially in the white-ball cricket.

“He’s got many. I think it’s just with how the ease that he plays, especially anything back of a length, anything short, just puts it away with such ease. It’s just an area in which he gets better, I think,” Hazlewood said — while speaking about Rohit’s greatest strength — on Star Sports’ Cricket Connected show.

“He never looks to bludgeon the ball, just pure class, and elegance. His records, especially in white-ball cricket, is phenomenal,” he added.

With the series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe called-off, Rohit will be next seen in action after August.
