Rohit Sharma Badly Missing Cricket After Calf Injury

The flamboyant opening batsman of the Indian National Cricket Team Rohit Sharma recently sustained an injury in the T20I series against New Zealand, which saw him staying away from the ODI series and Test series. He is gradually recovering from the injury and hitting gym sessions regularly – to be fit as quickly as possible.

Following the exit from the game for a while now, the vice-captain of the Indian team posted a picture of him in the practice session and captioned saying that he is missing holding the bat in his hand for the Indian team.

Rohit had to hobble off the field in the 17th over of the final T20I at Bay Oval and did not take the field after his injury.

Later, Shubman Gill was named in the Test squad as Rohit’s replacement after he impressed for the India A side that toured New Zealand, scoring 83 and 204 not out in an unofficial test.

In the absence of Rohit, the Indian team suffered a whitewash in both ODI and Test series. His replacements Mayank Agarwal and Prithvi Shaw failed to make things fall in place for the Indian team.

Back then, Rohit was given the opening slot in limited-overs back in 2013. Since then he never looked back. The runs piled up and records got tumbled. Then in 2019 he was asked to open in Tests as well and started off with a bang.

In his first Test as an opener, the man scored twin hundreds, clearly, he belonged at the top. Within a few games, he became the major player for India across the formats.

Most likely, he will stay away from the upcoming series against South Africa as well. The flamboyant cricketer will be back in the action when Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 gets underway. He will be leading Mumbai Indians in the tournament.
