Raving Rohit Sharma relish the list of most sixes for India in T20Is Innings

The format of Twenty20 International cricket has become an intriguing format which has witnessed multiple records being thrown to the plate with statisticians being kept busy to churn out the captivating figures. It has become the norm when a batsman like Rohit Sharma has had joined the party – to deflate the opposition which such power-hitting owing to his effortless shot-selection.

We’re talking about the T20I chart which is enlisting the players who have smashed the most number of sixes in the T20I innings for India.

The storyline of Rohit’s innings has come to the fore by puncturing the inexperienced Sri Lankan bowlers on a surface which proved to be a belter as he plundered runs across the dial.

The make-shift opening batsman went past Yuvraj Singh’s seven sixes record when he clobbered ten sixes in the second T20I against Sri Lanka at Holkar Stadium in Indore on Friday (December 22) evening before walking back to the hut on 43-ball 118 which was simultaneously comprised of 12 fours.

It has been a decade since Yuvraj Singh belted six sixes on the bowling of Stuart Broad on September 19, 2007, at Kingsmead Stadium in Durban during the T20I World Cup, before making it to the record list for being first Indian to score most number of sixes in the shorter version of the game.

The left-handed batsman smashed seven sixes in that innings while finishing at quick fire 14-ball 58.

In December 2012, Yuvraj hammered seven sixes in Ahmedabad in a bid to equal the record of most maximums in T20I innings for India against arch-rivals Pakistan.

Yuvraj smashed 72 off 36 deliveries while scoring at the strike-rate of exactly 200.

The Mumbai-based batting mainstay Rohit had tonked Lions skipper Thisara Perera four consecutive sixes.

It is pertinent to mention that Rohit eclipsed past Yuvraj Singh’s seven sixes-record when he smashed his eighth six and fourth off Perera right into the cover boundary while extending his arms.
