Rohit Sharma surpasses Yuvraj Singh in the tally of most number of T20I sixes

The ‘Hitman’ of Indian cricket, Rohit Sharma, in his eagerly-awaited return to form, surpassed Yuvraj Singh in the tally of T20I sixes.

Indian captain for the ongoing Nidahas Trophy brought up his recent feat during his onslaught on the Bangladeshi bowlers in the 5th T20I of the triangular series.

The 18th over of the Indian inning, which went for as many as 21 runs, was bowled by rookie pacer Abu Haider. After smashing 15 off the first five deliveries, Rohit Sharma hit a huge six over the cow corner to achieve the feat.

Rohit now has as many as 75 sixes in his tally, which now betters Yuvi’s record of 74 sixes. Martin Guptill and Chris Gayle still head the list for the most number of T20I sixes with 103 maximums in their tally.

Following Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, who scored 47 at a rapid strike rate tonight, is placed at the number three spot for the most number of T20I sixes amongst Indians.

MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are third and fourth in the tally with 46 and 41 maximums in International Cricket as far as T20 is concerned.

With this knock today against Bangladesh, Rohit Sharma announced his return in form. Sharma scored a brisk 89 off 61 balls, which pushed the Indian score to 176.

Bangladesh needs a 177 run to win to keep their hopes alive in Triangular series.
