Besides his batting, Rohit Sharma has got smooth off-spin in his kitty to entertain the fans. However, ahead of Day 2, he surprises one and all with his medium-fast bowling in the nets.

Perhaps, the new pink ball would have prompted him to go for it in the nets. Besides that, he had spent a fair amount of time with the Indian bowling coach Bharat Arun. However, it wasn’t for his fast bowling but being a senior batsman in the side, he shared his thoughts to the bowlers, who are operating in the nets.

As a batsman, it wasn’t the game to remember for Rohit Sharma. Though he started off his account with a massive six, the flamboyant batsman committed an error of judgement to walk back with 21 runs in his kitty when he left an inswinger off Ebadat Hossain. However, he will remember the game for his stunning catch at slip cordon to dismiss Bangladesh skipper.

Coming to the match progress, initially, it was Bangladesh, who batted first, were rolled out for 106 runs on the board. Ishant Sharma was the wrecker-in-chief with a five-wicket haul while Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Shami delivered the goods as well. In reply, India scored 347 runs before declaring the innings.

The Indian skipper Virat Kohli was the chief contributor for the team with the bat. He smashed a brilliant 136-run knock for the team before being dismissed to a stunning catch from Taijul Islam at deep square-leg region. Apart from Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane scored a half-century alongside Cheteshwar Pujara.

India declared with 44 overs left on Day 2 of the Pink Ball Test with 241-run lead. Straightway Ishant Sharma delivered the goods by sending Shadman Islam and Mominul Haque back to the hut even before opening their accounts.
