Rohit Sharma Wishes a Happy Retirement to Gautam Gambhir

Rohit Sharma, the vice-captain of India in the limited-overs, has extended his congratulatory message to Gautam Gambhir, who announced his retirement on December 4 (Tuesday).
The 37-year-old Gambhir has represented India in 58 Tests, 147 ODIs and 37 T20Is for India scoring more than 10000 runs across formats. He made his debut in 2003 and last played for India in a Test against England in Rajkot in 2016. He retires with nine Test centuries and 11 ODI centuries to his name.

“After more than 15 years of cricket for my country I want to retire from playing this beautiful game,” he said. “Despite all the aches and pains; fears and failures I won’t mind a repeat of this in my next life too. But obviously, with a few more wins for India, a few more hundreds and in the next life may be a few five-wicket hauls as well,” Gambhir said in a video message.
The social media was in awe since the news broke out on the internet. Congratulatory message poured in for the Gautam Gambhir on his social media accounts. His current teammates to his former teammates to fans all over the world shared high praise for the talented batsman.
Rohit Sharma while wishing Gambhir said that it was an honour to play alongside Gambhir. Moreover, he also wished him a happy retirement.
“It’s been an absolute honour to play alongside you and against you. Congratulations on a phenomenal career and I wish you a happy retirement, @GautamGambhir,” the tweet read.
