Rohit Sharma's First Paycheck From Cricket Will Leave You Shocked As India Star Reveals The Amount

Rohit Sharma is one of the most well-paid cricketers in the world right now. The batting superstar is in BCCI’s top category which fetches him INR 7 crore annually while he earns more than the double of that amount while playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

He also endorses a range of brands which fetch him whopping amount of money. But while he might be one of the richest cricketers in the world at the moment, he too had a very humble beginning just like other cricketer. Rohit Sharma, on Sunday, revealed the amount of his first paycheck in the game.

The right-handed batsman held a question-answer session on Twitter. His fans bombarded him with several questions and one of them asked him:

“How much was your first paycheck worth and at what age did you get it? How did you spend it, with friends or family?

In reply, Rohit Sharma revealed the amount which will surely leave many surprised. The India opener revealed the first amount he received by playing cricket was only INR 50. He also revealed how he spent that money.

“My first paycheck was not a paycheck, it was cash which I won playing near my society. It was 50 rupees. It was spent by eating roadside vada paav with my friends,” revealed Rohit Sharma.

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma will be seen in action soon when the IPL gets underway next month. He has not played any competitive game since the T20I series in New Zealand earlier this year. He was a part of the ODI and Test series on the tour but a calf injury sidelined him.

The IPL will start on September 19 in the UAE. Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians are the defending champions and the captain will definitely look to add more titles to his kitty.
