New Zealand's Rosemary Mair Bowls An Unbelievable Spell In A Inter-District Match

As the New Zealand cricketers are touching new heights at the highest level, the upcoming crop isn’t staying behind either. The Shrimpton Trophy in New Zealand witnessed Rosemary Mair register an insane bowling spell, picking up four wickets in four balls, giving away no runs in her four overs. Rosemary, who was playing for Central Districts recorded these stunning figures against Taranaki at Hawke’s Bay on November 7 (Thursday).

Her numbers at the end of the opposition innings read as 4-4-0-4. Mair not only made an impact with the ball but also made a substantial contribution with the bat. The 21-year old hammered 31 off 16 balls to carry Central Districts to a formidable total of 263 in a 40-over game. With the ball, she runs riot – bundling out the top-order with ease. In the end, Taranaki was shot out for an embarrassing score of 56, losing by a whopping margin of 207 runs.

Among the opposing batters, only two of them could reach double figures. The highest scorer among them were 12, and two others made ten each. Rosemary Mair was also the pick of the bowlers, bagging four wickets. Niamh Muldowney picked up two wickets to go with while Pedersen and Findlay chipped in with two and three wickets respectively.

Mair made her international debut for New Zealand in 2019. She has so far featured in only three one-day internationals and as many games in T20s for the nation. Earlier this year, Mair received a contract for Central Districts. The Central Districts shared the news in their twitter account following Mair’s achievement.

Meanwhile, at the highest level in men’s cricket, New Zealand are locking horns with England in the fourth T20 international at Mclean Park in Napier. The tourists have smashed 241 in their allotted overs on the back of Dawid Malan’s dominant hundred and Eoin Morgan’s innings of 91.
