Ross Taylor Goes Past MS Dhoni In The List Of Most Sixes In T20 Cricket

New Zealand star Ross Taylor has gone past MS Dhoni in the list of most sixes in T20 cricket.  Taylor achieved the feat during the ongoing Caribbean Premier League.

Playing for Jamaica Tallawahs, Taylor slammed 51 not out off 35 deliveries against St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. The innings contained 2 fours and 4 sixes. As a result, the Tallawahs posted 178 for 4 in the allotted 20 overs. In reply, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots could only manage 131 for 9, thus losing the game by 47 runs.

The four sixes hit by Taylor took his tally to 271 in 248 T20s. On the other hand, Dhoni has smashed 267 sixes in 297 games. Both Taylor and Dhoni were tied on 267 sixes before the CPL game before the Kiwi star went past Dhoni by hitting four maximums. So far, Taylor has amassed 4,111 runs in the shortest format of the game.

Overall, Taylor is 12th in the list of most sixes hit by a player in T20s.  The list is led by West Indies star and the most decorated batsman in the history of T20, Chris Gayle. The Jamaican has hit a staggering 857 sixes in just 338 games. Second in the list is Gayle’s compatriot Kieron Pollard who is well behind the top place. Pollard has hit 530 in 425 games.

Among Indians, the highest ranked player is Rohit Sharma. The right-hander is ranked seventh with 313 sixes in 289 games. Suresh Raina and Dhoni are 11 and 13th respectively in the list.
