New Zealand batsman Ross Taylor has revealed his retirement plans. Taylor said he loves playing for New Zealand and will not prefer to play in different T20 leagues across the globe. The right-handed batsman has done a great job for the Kiwis and said that playing for different franchises is not his cup of tea.

Meanwhile, Ross Taylor also played in the Indian Premier League for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Taylor received a lot of love and affection while playing in the cricket-loving country. The talisman batsman said he loved playing in the Indian Premier League as he felt like been a part of the family.

Taylor had a good time in the IPL.

In fact, Taylor believes playing in the Indian domestic T20 league has helped New Zealand cricket in narrowing down the gap between them and the other powerhouses of the game.

“I really loved playing with international players and Indian domestic players in the same team. Learning from them has helped narrow the gap with New Zealand cricket. We were little brothers to teams like India, South Africa and Australia, but we are a lot closer on the field now in terms of performance”.

“Cricket is India’s religion and to experience that, and for the local fans to embrace me as their own, is something I will never forget. Going out to a packed Chinnaswamy to chants of ‘Taylor Taylor’… I had family there. They will never forget it and I definitely won’t. I do miss it at times, but playing time in the IPL for me is gone,” Taylor said while talking to Hindustan Times.

The right-hander who has scored 20 ODI hundred for the New Zealand team revealed he doesn’t have any immediate plans of hanging his boots. Ross Taylor said he is not going to play a lot of franchise cricket after calling it a day in his International career

No plan of playing franchise cricket.

Taylor added, “I don’t think I will retire earlier from international cricket just to go and do the T20 circuit because I love playing for New Zealand. Playing for a different franchise every month is not something that appeals to me as much as playing in front of family and friends here in New Zealand”.

Ross Taylor is in good form and he is going to hold the key for the Blackcaps in the upcoming ICC World Cup 2019. New Zealand lost the ODI series against India by 1-4 and Taylor believes the series loss came at the right time.

Meanwhile, New Zealand will now take on Bangladesh in three-match ODI series. The first ODI will take place at Napier on 13th February. This is going to be the last ODI series before the World Cup for the Kiwis. Consequently, Ross Taylor will like to tick the right boxes against the visitors. New Zealand were the runners-up of 2015 World Cup edition and would like to go all the way in the forthcoming ODI showpiece.
