The 30th match of the IPL 2022 saw Rajasthan Royals (RR) taking on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on April 18, 2022, and KKR’s Shivam Mavi and Pat Cummins showcased an amazing display of fielding at the boundary by taking a relay catch.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl first which has been the case in all the matches in the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League. KKR had one change as they brought in Shivam Mavi for Aman Khan, while Rajasthan made three changes.
Trent Boult came back in the XI in place of Jimmy Neesham, Karun Nair came in for Rassie van der Dussen and Obed McCoy made his RR debut replacing Kuldeep Sen. For the first time in this season, RR openers Devdutt Padikkal (24) and Jos Buttler added 97 runs in 9.4 overs before Padikkal was bowled by Sunil Narine, who was playing his 150th match in IPL for KKR.
Sanju Samson then came to the party and smashed 38 runs in 19 balls with 3 fours and 2 sixes, but the whole RR innings was about Jos Buttler. He batted like dream on the Brabourne pitch and scored his 50 in 29 balls and reached his second IPL century this season off 59 balls. He got out for 103 in 61 balls, and caught off the bowling of Pat Cummins, but it was an excellent inning.

Once Buttler got out, RR batters started throwing their hands at every ball in an effort to gather as many runs as possible. One of these batters was Riyan Parag, who scored 5 runs in 3 balls and was dismissed thanks to an excellent effort from Pat Cummins and assisted by Shivam Mavi.
On the first ball of the 18th over, Parag hit Narine straight over his head, but Cummins took an excellent running catch from long-off. However, he struggled to keep his balance and threw the ball towards Shivam Mavi who ran in from long-on, before falling. Mavi completed the catch one-handed with a jump of his own.
