Former India fast-bowler S Sreesanth believes that Arjun Tendulkar, son of the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, is destined to play for India. The youngster is a fast-bowling allrounder. He earned his maiden and only India U19 call-up in 2018 but was not eligible for this year’s U19 World Cup because of his age.

Later in November in the same year, he had impressed in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy. The left-arm pacer had bagged the figures of 5/30 to help Mumbai thrash Gujarat by 9 wickets. He had also taken 3 for just 14 runs off seven overs in Mumbai’s 10-wicket win over Assam.

In that same month, he had taken six wickets for 70 runs while playing for Vijay Merchant XI against Vijay Manjrekar XI in the KC Mahindra Shield U-19 tournament. Arjun Tendulkar, in fact, has been doing well for the last two years or so. In the 2017-18 Cooch Behar Trophy, he had picked up 19 wickets in five matches, including two five-wicket hauls for Mumbai U19.

Last year, he had made it to Mumbai’s U23 side as well. Earlier this year, he was named in Mumbai’s U23 Col. CK Nayudu Trophy too. Only time will tell how Arjun Tendulkar’s career pans out but Sreesanth is confident that Tendulkar junior would don the India jersey one day.

Sreesanth made his prediction while replying to Sachin Tendulkar after the latter thanked his former teammate for his birthday wishes.

“Thanks a lot Sachin Paaji..u made my day, great to hear from you..love and warm regds to all at home..nd great to c Arjun doing well ..he is got a brilliant action nd great rhythm..he will surly play for India,” Sreesanth tweeted.

Meanwhile, S Sreesanth’s ban will come to an end in September 2020. In August last year, the BCCI cut short the life ban imposed on him for the IPL spot-fixing scandal in 2013.  BCCI ombudsman DK Jain ordered for S Sreesanth’s spot-fixing ban to be reduced to a seven-year suspension.
