Australia’s left-handed opener, David Warner, admitted he will always stick up his family after the recent altercation with Quinton de Kock.

Further, he claimed de Kock made a “vile and disgusting” remark about his wife which led to the spat.

Meanwhile, ICC punished both the cricketers for their bust-up. Warner lost 75 percent of his match fee while de Kock 25 percent.

However, they are available for the second Test which starts tomorrow at Port Elizabeth. Further, Warner got three demerit points for his behaviour. He will be banned if he accumulates one more demerit point in the next year.

I will stick up to for family:

Warner admitted he let his emotions take over after confronting de Kock. Meanwhile, they got engaged in the altercation, as the players walked up a narrow staircase to the dressing rooms during the tea interval.

Video captured in CCTV showed Warner getting restrained by his teammates. Also, Warner feels South African wicket-keeper batsman crossed the line.

The other day I was probably out of line. I’ve seen the footage, and I regret the way it played out but for me — it is how I am, and I responded emotionally and regretted the way I played out,” he said to reporters.

But I’ll always stick up for my family. I cop it left, right and centre, especially off the field from spectators. I am used to that, and it doesn’t bother me. But in the proximity of my personal space and behind me, a comment that was vile and disgusting and about my wife and just in general about a lady was quite poor, I felt,” Waner added.

Further, the southpaw added when it comes to racism or family comments; it is just a no-go zone.

Meanwhile, South African coach Ottis Gibson defended de Kock stating Kock was provoked.

However, match referee Jeff Crowe is expected to give both the skippers a lesson on how he wants players to behave when the series continues.
