It is a matter of certainty these days that whenever MS Dhoni steps on to the field, one record or the other is meant to be toppled or created. This trend had been following since the Sri Lankan tour last year.
Recently, during the ODI series, India’s talismanic wicket-keeper batsman completed the tally of 600 catches in International cricket. Before this feat, MSD managed to reach the 400 mark in the dismissal tally in ODIs.
Before the start of the ODI series, it was speculated that Dhoni would reach the 10,000 ODI run mark to achieve the legendary status in the fifty over format statistically.
However, Dhoni wasn’t provided with ample opportunities in the series due to the good work from the top-order.

As India takes on South Africa in the final leg of their gruelling tour, MSD, yet again, is on the brink of another milestone. In the tally of the most number of dismissals by a wicket-keeper, it is MS Dhoni who tops the list with 76 to his name.

Out of which, 47 came from catches while the rest came via stumpings. Which means, the Indian number 7 is only three short of grasping 50 catches in T20I cricket.
Next on the list of wicket-keepers with the most number of dismissals in T20I cricket is Kamran Akmal. The eldest of all the Akmal brothers has 60 dismissals to his name.

Interestingly, Kamran Akmal has the most number of stumpings to his name in T20I cricket. The out of favour wicket-keeper batsman has 32 stumpings in his tally. MSD is slated the overtake Akmal soon with 29 stumpings already in his kitty.
