The way Team India bounced back in style in the third Test against South Africa, the fans would be desperate to see both the teams resuming the rivalry in the upcoming One-Day International series.

Virat Kohli & Co. were thoroughly outplayed in the first two Tests but went on to finish the series on a strong note with a 63-run win over the Proteas, thus setting the tone for the remainder of the tour.

But while the cricketing fraternity is eagerly waiting for the two top ODI teams of the world to resume their rivalry in Durban on Thursday,  the weather forecast suggests the rain may play spoilsport in the first ODI.

The weather department has forecast mostly cloudy with a shower or thunderstorm weather for the South African city which might spoil the first match of the series.

Meanwhile, India, who are yet to lose an ODI series under Kohli’s captaincy, can leapfrog South Africa and become the number one ODI side if they win the six-match series 4-2 or better. On the other hand, the Proteas will have just to draw the series to remain atop the rankings.

India will look to make a winning start to the series on Thursday. India had never won a bilateral ODI series in South Africa before, as they previously lost 2-5 in 1992-93, 0-4 in 2006-07, 2-3 in 2010-11 and 0-2 in 2013-14.
