Former Pakistan all-rounder Azhar Mahmood has lavished praise on Virat Kohli after the latter’s monumental knock against South Africa.

The India skipper, on Wednesday, played a stunning knock of 160 to help India win the third One-Day International at Newlands, Cape Town.

Kohli – Out of the league:

While the other batsmen from both sides have struggled to get going, Kohli has stamped his authority with the bat. Not only that, Kohli has batted with quite an ease but has also piled up runs. He finished the Test as the highest run-scorer and is batting similarly in the ongoing ODI series too.

He started the series with a magnificent knock of 112. In the following ODI, he scored an unbeaten 46 to help India chase down 119 with ease.

And the form continued in the third ODI too. The India skipper slammed a majestic ton to help his team post a massive total of 303 for six. In reply, South Africa was all out for just 179.

Yuzvednra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav once again ran through the Proteas lineup to fire India to a comprehensive win. Both the bowlers took four wickets each while Jasprit Bumrah picked up a couple. As a result of the win, India is now leading the six-match series 3-0.

Impressed with Kohli’s batting, Azhar Mahmood took to Twitter to hail the India skipper.

“No words to describe @imVkohli ‘s excellence & form with the bat. He’s a treat to watch. Well done bro,”

India inches closer to series win:

Another win will give India their maiden bilateral series win in South Africa. The Men in Blue have never won a Test or ODI series against the Proteas in their backyard. Moreover, a series win with the margin of 4-2 or better will also help India reclaim the number one rank in ODIs.
