The event for Indian captain, Virat Kohli, scoring a century in games has become a matter of monotony.

These days with Kohli on strike, public almost waits for him to break records. After scoring his tons at Durban and Centurion, Kohli brought up his third century on this South African tour by checking Cape Town off his list of vanquishment.

It is Kohli’s 12th ODI ton as a captain of the Indian team in international cricket. He surpassed former Indian great, Sourav Ganguly’s tally of 11 ODI centuries with the help of this hundred in the third ODI. The second part of the glorious feat which is indeed mindboggling is the number of innings Kohli consumed to achieve this feat.

While Ganguly took 142 innings to compile his tally of 11 tons, King Kohli has only taken 43 innings to add another colourful feather into his royal cap in ODIs.

Stalwarts of Indian cricket, namely, Sachin Tendulkar and MS Dhoni are a country-mile behind VK, as they scored six tons each and had taken 70 and 171 innings, respectively to be placed third on the list of most centuries as Indian captains.
