Sachin Tendulkar congratulates Rohit Sharma on his 3rd double ton

Acting Indian captain Rohit Sharma redefined history once again when he stepped down to bat against the Sri Lankans at Mohali today. The flamboyant stroke player show sheer class and batting prowess as the batsman registered his 3rd double century in One Day International cricket. The gigantic and unbeaten 208 run knock came off just 151 deliveries as he rode India to a hefty total of 392 runs in their 50 designated overs.

After completing his hundred slowly but steadily, Rohit Sharma decided to take on the attack tot he Sri Lankan bowlers. His answer to the defeat in the first ODI is outstanding as he brought up the second hundred runs in just 35 balls to leave his footprints on the sands of time. Sharma entered a list of records by blasting the monster double ton, which is his 2nd against the Lions.

He became the only cricketer in the history of the game to hammer three 200s, while the 2nd Indian captain after Virender Sehwag to score a double century. From Sachin Tendulkar to Virender Sehwag himself bowed down to the batsman on Twitter on achieving this remarkable feat.

While Sehwag was left in awe with his swashbuckling innings, Sachin Tendulkar had a lovely message for the opener. Tendulkar in his tweet backed Sharma to keep up his wonderful form and mentioned that it is always a treat to watch his batting. Sachin Tendulkar is the first batsman in the history of cricket to score a double century in the coloured jersey. Tendulkar also paired the caption with a photo of Rohit Sharma celebrating after completing his 200.
