Sachin Tendulkar Conveys Rajya Sabha Message Via His Twitter Handle

Former Indian skipper and arguably the greatest batsman to have graced the game of cricket Sachin Tendulkar who is a member of Parliament failed to deliver his maiden speech at the Rajya Sabha on Thursday as Congress members continued to halt the proceedings over Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s remark against predecessor Manmohan Singh during the Gujarat poll campaign.

Sachin was seen wearing a black Nehru jacket and trousers and just when the Master as ready to speak on “Right to Play and the Future of Sports in India” the Congress members started disrupting. The house reassembled post-lunch for what would have been Tendulkar’s maiden speech in Rajya Sabha in 4 years. However, the slogan-shouting by the Congress benches prevented Tendulkar from delivering his speech.

While he missed the session yesterday, Tendulkar conveyed the message which he wanted to say in the speech via his official twitter handle. Tendulkar started loving the game because of his father Ramesh Tendulkar, who ensured Tendulkar reached greater heights.

He further added that he obviously loved sports and cricket was his life but it was the freedom given by his father which helped Sachin to express himself on the field via his game and the rest, as they say, is history. He said that his father encouraged him to become what he wanted to become in life. He went on to add that India is set to become the youngest average age nation in the world and if the current scenario prevails in the nation, then India won’t be able to move forward.

Over 75 million people in the country suffer diabetes, and when it comes to obesity, the country occupies the 3^rd position. Not a great achievement under any stress of imagination. The Little Master has urged his countrymen to ensure that the future of the young people of the nation is in safe hands and hence we have to become a bit more responsible in every aspect of life.

Taking to his twitter handle, Tendulkar wrote, “ It is my endeavour to transform India from being a sport loving nation to a sport playing nation. I urge you all to participate in this effort and help make my dream, our dream. Always remember, dreams do come true! Jai Hind>”
