The legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar paid his tribute to his childhood coach – Ramakant Achrekar. Ramakant Achrekar took his last breath at the age of 86 years. Achrekar was ill from a long time and had suffered a stroke in 2013. Meanwhile, the Droncharya awardee was instrumental in shaping the career of Sachin Tendulkar.

In fact, he also produced players like Chandrakant Pandit, Pravin Amre, Vinod Kambli, Ajit Agarkar and Ramesh Powar through his academy- who went on to play for India. Achrekar was instrumental in Sachin Tendulkar’s career and helped him to take the right path of success.

Sachin Tendulkar Pays Tribute to his Father-like Coach Ramakant Achrekar

Achrekar was instrumental in shaping Tendulkar’s career.

Consequently, Sachin Tendulkar achieved great heights in his career and made Achrekar proud of his accomplishments. In fact, it was Ramakant who made sure the 11-year Sachin Tendulkar swap his school from Bandra’s New English School to Sharadashram Vidya Mandir.

Tendulkar was groomed like a flower and Achrekar made sure that the prodigy batsman blossomed like a star. Sachin worked hard with his coach and it was a great journey for both of them.

Sachin Tendulkar took to his Twitter account to pay his tribute to his coach. Tendulkar said he learnt the ABC of cricket under Achrekar’s tutelage. Tendulkar said he cannot explain the contribution of his coach in words.

The honourable coach laid down the foundation on which Sachin is standing right now. It is an emotional moment for Sachin Tendulkar as Achrekar was a father-like figure for him.

Sachin Tendulkar also revealed that he had met Ramakant Achrekar last month with some of the students of the academy. Tendulkar said he had a good laugh with his former coach.
