Exclusive: I Wish Sachin Tendulkar Had Played For Australia- Shaun Tait

One of Australia’s fastest-ever pacers, Shaun Tait, has said that he wished that former Indian legendary batsman, Sachin Tendulkar had played for Australia. Shaun Tait has been one of the fastest-ever bowlers in world cricket during his stint in the international spectrum. Shaun has had a lot of experience of playing in various franchise league tournaments across the globe including the Indian Premier League.

Tait made his debut in the Indian Premier League for the Rajasthan Royals way back in 2009 and then played for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2016. He was close to breaking Shoaib Akhtar’s record of the fastest-ever ball back in 2009 but missed only by a small margin. However, Tait has had his share of injuries during his time and was mostly away from the field.

Now, Shaun Tait has said that he wished Sachin had played for Australia. Sachin Tendulkar is arguably the best batsman in world cricket that there has ever been.

In an exclusive chat with Cricket Addictor, Shaun Tait said that he wished Sachin had played for the Australian Cricket Team. Sachin Tendulkar is widely regarded as the ‘God of Cricket.’ He has set almost every batting record in world cricket and smashed a whole lot of them during his stint on the 22-yard. Having scored more than 34000 international runs with a ton of international centuries, the Master Blaster of cricket set certain exemplary records during his career.

What sets him apart is the fact that he sustained for an immensely long period in the international circuit. Sachin had a 24-year long international career. Many players can’t even sustain its half because of the competitiveness that international cricket brings along with.

The Records Speak Volume For Themselves

Tendulkar has worked wonders for team India during his 24-year long stint and even after his retirement, there is almost no one who can come close to what Sachin Tendulkar achieved over the years. His dominance and charisma had the power to hold the entire nation when he walked into bat. Therefore, there can be no other Sachin Tendulkar in world cricket.

Sachin Tendulkar is the leading run-scorer in Tests, with 15,921 runs, as well as in One-Day Internationals, with 18,426 runs. He is the only player to score more than 30,000 runs in all forms of international cricket. He also holds the record of the highest number of centuries in both Tests (51) and ODIs (49) as well as in Tests and ODIs combined (100).
