Sachin Tendulkar's Disputed Property In Mussoorie Demolished

A section of Sachin Tendulkar’s disputed property, Dahlia Bank, in Mussoorie’s Landour Cantonment area has been demolished by Cantonment Board for illegal construction, the ANI reported on Tuesday (October 3).
The disputed resort, that is Tendulkar’s famous summer destination, had violated one of the rules of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The resort has crossed the 50-foot, no-construction zone beside the Institute of Technology Management, which is a very important establishment of the DRDO. Sachin Tendulkar is not the sole owner of the property as his business partner Sanjay Narang partly owns the resort.

According to the reports of the Institute, Narang sought the required permissions to build tennis courts in the ‘restricted construction zone’ around the establishment. However,he had gone on to construct full-fledged buildings.
Last year, the legendary batsman had sought the then Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar’s help to save the luxurious holiday. However, it seems Sachin failed to get any respite in the matter as the Cantonment board ended up demolishing a section of his property.
Meanwhile, there were also reports that Sachin was seeking the defence ministry’s help because he had economic interest in the property. However, the suggestions were later dismissed by Tendulkar’s spokesperson.
“Tendulkar attended a meeting following which a formal written representation was submitted to the Ministry of Defence on a pending dispute regarding some development undertaken in Landour by Narang,” the spokesperson had said last year. “Tendulkar has always maintained that the prevailing laws of the land should be upheld while giving a fair opportunity to all parties concerned to present their points of view.”
“Sachin Tendulkar has no present business relationship with Sanjay Narang nor does he have any economic interest, whatsoever, in the Landour cantonment,” he had added.
