In January, he became first Nepal player to get signed up by an IPL team.

He was purchased by Delhi Daredevils for an amount of Rs 20 Lakh – his base price.

The teenager has impressed many with his leg-spin.

He first came into limelight when Michael Clarke called him to Australia to train.

Clarke also tipped Ricky Ponting – Head Coach of Delhi Daredevils – to keep an eye on the leggie.

As a result, it got him an IPL contract as well.

Lamichchane is a part of the Nepal squad for the World Cup qualifiers, which will be played in Zimbabwe, starting on March 4.

He played a vital role in helping Nepal qualify for the qualifiers by bagging  16 wickets in six matches, emerging as joint highest wicket-taker.

The leg-spinner was delighted to be picked up by the franchise and had a message on twitter –

Sandeep now has a busy season ahead as after the qualifiers; he will join Delhi Daredevils in IPL.

After a break of a month, he will join his CPL side.

The upcoming season of CPL will begin on August 8.

In another big signing of the season, Chris Lynn was picked up by Trinbago Knight Riders.

He did not enter the draft process and is all set to continue his association with the Knight Riders family.
