Veteran Indian commentator, Sanjay Manjrekar, has responded to a Twitter user who tried to take a dig at Manjrekar calling him a ‘bits and pieces’ commentator. It is notable that Sanjay Manjrekar has been involved in a lot of controversies over the years off the field because of his remarks on a certain player or a team.

Manjrekar has been absolutely vocal about his opinions and the veteran commentator has fired shots at a plethora of cricketers during his stint away from the field. One of the major controversies that Manjrekar has been involved in, surfaced between him and Indian all-rounder, Ravindra Jadeja, when, during the 2019 Cricket World Cup, Manjrekar labelled Jadeja as a ‘bits and pieces’ cricketer.

Manjrekar was heavily criticized by the fans for his remarks on Ravindra Jadeja as Jadeja has gone on to become one of Indian’s most influential all-rounders in limited-overs cricket.

Sanjay Manjrekar And Ravindra Jadeja Were Involved In A Heated Argument

“I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner,” Manjrekar had said.

To this, Ravindra Jadeja took to Twitter and wrote, “Still I have played twice the number of matches you have played and I m still playing. Learn to respect ppl who have achieved.I have heard enough of your verbal diarrhoea”

Manjrekar Responds To A User Who Labelled Him A Bits And Pieces Commentator

The entire controversy this time blew up when a Twitter user blamed Manjrekar of not speaking against Chennai Super Kings’ skipper, MS Dhoni. Manjrekar responded to the user clearing his stand on criticizing CSK in place of MS Dhoni and as to why he did so. A Twitter user who wasn’t satisfied with Manjrekar’s clearance labelled him as a ‘bits and pieces’ commentator.

Manjrekar took to Twitter to respond to this troll and wrote, “No sir, I am a pure commentator. Bits and pieces are those who do a little bit of this and little bit of that. So if you don’t like me, say bad commentator, not bits and pieces.”

It seems as if the entire controversy is not going to end anytime soon and Manjrekar, being one of the elite commentators of the game, is doing nothing but spoiling his own repute that he has earned all these years.
