Kerala wicket-keeper batsman Sanju Samson has made a fantastic start to his IPL 2020 season. He has scored 159 runs thus far in the tournament and in the race for the most runs scorer in this season. Rajasthan Royals mentor Shane Warne has backed Sanju Samson and said that he can represent the national team across formats if he performs consistently.
Warne also added that Samson is a quality player and has been showing his class for a long time now. The spin legend believes that Samson is evolving quite well and is a very special talent and will go on to represent the national team.
“He’s just such a talented player, I’ve seen a lot of talented cricketers in my time but watching Samson bat, in the nets being around him, speaking to him over the years and now watching him evolve I mean he is something else. He is a very special talent and I hope he hits the international stage very soon,” added the 51-year-old.

Samson received his T20I cap for India in 2015 against Zimbabwe. He has played four matches in the shortest format, scoring 35 runs, which has seen him being dropped out of the side. Samson, 29, has played 55 matches for Kerala in domestic cricket, scoring 3162 runs, at an average of 37.64.
Ahead of the IPL 2020, Samson played 149 T20Is, where he has scored 3481 runs at an average of 26.98. He also has two centuries and 21 half-centuries to his name.
