Sanju Samson opens new sports academy in Thiruvananthapuram

Wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson has launched his fresh sports academy in Thiruvananthapuram on Friday. The academy is bound to train the aspiring cricketers and footballers as well. The brand-new academy has been named as ‘Six Guns Sports Academy.

Moreover, the selection procedure will taken into consideration after being made available in the city.

“Even though the academy is based in the capital city, the selection camps will be held across the state,” Samson was quoted as saying by IANS.

The promising batsman Samson is representing the Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Rajasthan Royals. Interestingly, the inaugural champions of the domestic professional league are making a return to the IPL fold. Royals are back to business after two years following the 2013 spot-fixing scandal.

The football is also being the major fascination among many in the country. Samson is expecting a rich competition in the field of sports. Interestingly, his father is going to manage the football academy.

“The academy is just not limited to cricket alone, but football talent would also be trained for greater glory,” Samson added.

The father of 23-year-old cricketer Samson had already represented Delhi Police in football.

During brief the media, Samson revealed it was the brainchild of his father. The academy will provide a platform to the youth in their respective fields.

“While we rely on coaches who are trained and available here, if need be, we will definitely get coaches from outside also,” Samson asserted.

Apart from the training programme, the coaches will also scout out to rope in talented players in soccer.

Moreover, the academy was inaugurated by the Member of Lok Sabha. The multi-purpose academy is seen as the next big thing in itself in Thiruvananthapuram.

As the eleventh edition of the IPL will be beginning on April 7 in Mumbai, Samson is ready for the challenge.
