Former Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed has clearly stated that he is not thinking of making a comeback into the national team ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia. He will instead, stay focused on his Pakistan Super League (PSL) duties, where Sarfaraz is currently leading the Quetta Gladiators.
He was stripped of the captaincy of the national team in Test and Twenty20 formats in October and was dropped from the squad.
However, in his latest interview, Sarfaraz reaffirmed that he is not thinking about making a comeback to the national team just yet.

The 32-year-old came under-fire after Pakistan’s shambolic displays at the 2019 ODI World Cup. In the aftermath, Sarfaraz was sacked as the skipper and subsequently dropped from the team as well.
“I’m not focusing on making an international comeback in the T20 World Cup,” The News International quoted Sarfaraz Ahmed as saying.
Since being dropped from Pakistan’s squad, Sarfaraz has missed the tour of Australia, the Test series versus Sri Lanka and the Test and T20 series versus Bangladesh at home.

In an earlier interview, Sarfaraz had reaffirmed his commitment to the Pakistan Super League, while adding that he is solely focused on the T20 league, and not the Pakistan side, nor the T20 World Cup.
“I am not thinking about a comeback right now. [The] PSL is an event that is in front of me and I am thinking about things that are in my hands rather than thinking about long-term things,” the right-handed batsman told Cricket Pakistan.

He continued, “I will try to maintain my form and fitness in the PSL so that I can perform well for my team as a player and as captain,” Sarfaraz said.
“I am getting more time, therefore, I am working more on my fitness. You get a better chance to maintain yourself during your off-days. When you are playing you don’t get enough time,” added Sarfaraz before signing off.
