Satisfied with my Career, Says Mohammad Kaif

After facing nostalgia, the former Indian cricket, Mohammad Kaif said he is satisfied with his career.

After announcing his retirement in July 2018, Mohammad Kaif says he is happy to represent India and help them create memories for the fans in the meanwhile. However, the right-handed batsman from Uttar Pradesh made his India debut in 2000.

“I am happy the way I played my game. I contributed and created some moments for Indian fans — both overseas as well in India. Happy with the way I finished my career and… it was a nice era when I played. Kaif said.

Mohammad Kaif lastly wore Indian jersey against South Africa in 2006. He agreed with the fact that many youngsters were lost in the likes of greats. The right-hander featured in 13 Test matches for India besides playing 125 One-Day Internationals.

He announced himself with some remarkable innings. He got the limelight for his inning in the mecca of cricket. Mohammad Kaif played a blistering knock of 82 in the Natwest Trophy final in 2002.

“I was playing under some of the best players, and they all became the legends…when you have so much of competition in the team, then it’s also difficult for the selectors to make room for younger players like me.”

However, Mohammad Kaif is amongst those cricketers who could not keep their move with the pace of time.

Mohammad Kaif and T20 format of the game

After the establishment of the T20 format in 2007, the former batsman found many difficulties to score runs at brisk. The shorter form of the game faced many turns, and many batsmen could not cope up with the pressure of runs.

“I was more suited to Test cricket, though I didn’t play much of it. With my technique, I was like Gautam Gambhir, Rahul Dravid… I have watched them a lot.”

Mohammad Kaif scored 2753 runs in the limited-overs format of the game that includes 17 half-centuries.

“I was never like Yuvraj… I like to spend some time at the crease, but I played 125 ODIs,” said Kaif,
