'See you on 19th': Rohit Sharma Posts Heartwarming Message After MS Dhoni's Retirement

Rohit Sharma has posted a heartwarming message after MS Dhoni announced his retirement from international cricket on Saturday. With the decision to retire, MS Dhoni’s 16-year association with Team India has come to an end.

The 39-year old retires as India’s greatest captain, finisher and wicketkeeper-batsman. He aced all the roles he was given by the team and has definitely set the bar higher for others. MS Dhoni is India’s most successful captain till date. Till date, he remains the only captain to have won all the ICC trophies.

Under him, India lifted the 2007 T20 World, 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy. Till date, he is the only captain to have won all the three ICC tournaments. It was also under his leadership that India became the number one Test side in 2009 and the team stayed at the top for over 600 days.

MS Dhoni played 350 ODIs and scored 10,773 runs with the highest score of 183* against Sri Lanka. In 98 T20Is, he amassed 1617 runs at an average of 37.60.

Rohit Sharma’s tribute for MS Dhoni:

Tributes have been pouring in from all quarters ever since MS Dhoni announced his retirement. Rohit Sharma also made sure to pay tribute to his former India teammate as he took to Twitter to post a heartwarming message. He hailed Dhoni by calling him ‘the most influential man in the history of Indian cricket’.

Rohit Sharma further said that while he would miss the wicketkeeper-batsman in blue jersey, he would still see him play in the yellow jersey in IPL. Rohit Sharma finished the message by saying that he would see Dhoni at toss on September 19 when Mumbai Indians take on Chennai Super Kings in the IPL-opener.

“One of the most influential man in the history of Indian cricket. His impact in & around cricket was massive. He was a man with vision and a master in knowing how to build a team. Will surely miss him in blue but we have him in yellow.

“See you on 19th at the toss @msdhoni,” wrote Rohit Sharma.
