Team India skipper Virat Kohli is going through a purple patch in his career. He is undoubtedly the greatest modern-day batsmen and his record in a relatively brief career speaks volume about his achievement and dedication towards the gentleman’s game. To go with his cricketing abilities, Kohli is also regarded as a style icon.

From different beard styles to funky hairstyles, the leader always feels overjoyed with the fact that he is appreciated for his fashion sense. Kohli further added that it is fun to experiment with his style and looks from time-to-time.

Speaking of being idolized as a fashion icon, Kohli revealed that it always feels good to know that he is being appreciated for his style and the clothes he wears.

“It sure feels good to know what you wear is well appreciated and liked by all. My sense of style and manner of dressing have evolved over the years. I know what kind of attire looks good on me, and I mainly work around that. It is fun to try out something different from time to time,” Kohli was quoted as saying by IANS during an email interaction.

The batting star Kohli revealed he has been working in particular with his stylist.

“I often work closely with my stylist and share inputs while deciding my look,” he added.

There is no doubt about the fact that at the age of 29, Virat is in the top of his game. He represented Delhi in several age group levels before breaking into the national team in 2008. He is one of the fittest cricketers going around and follows a strict fitness regime to keep him in shape.

It is surely a pretty hard job to maintain the fitness regime in between an all-important series. Even during tough times, Virat manages to keep things pretty easy with the fitness regime.

“Whether I am in the middle of a series or on a break, I maintain a disciplined regime. My level of fitness has a direct impact on my game; therefore I train hard and follow a strict diet,” Virat said.

Even during vacations, Virat never misses his gym routine.

“While on break, I go to the gym five times a week, and clock in minimum two hours. Even if I am on tour, I still ensure that I exercise for an hour and a half. I do a combination of weights and cardio exercises, and rarely indulge in cheat days,” added Virat.

Meanwhile, the Indian and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper launched its first performance footwear to form the brand of evoSpeed One 8 for Puma. Kohli is always conscious about his footwear.

“I am quite particular about my footwear on and off the field. The right footwear makes a remarkable difference on completing a run or affecting a runout,” Kohli asserted.

Kohli believes footwear is supposed to play a crucial role when it comes to the longer format of cricket.

“To play long hours in a test match, you need something that will give you cushion and comfort so that you can last for five days. You need stability and protection for your feet to stay injury free as you are playing back-to-back cricket,” he said.

The Delhi-based batsman Virat Kohli further revealed that he likes the traditional white shoes while batting. However, he keeps on experimenting with different colours while fielding.

“I prefer the traditional white colour while batting and I like to experiment with colours when fielding. Off-field, I like to keep a neat look. I prefer wearing white sneakers,” he added.
