It is fair to say that Sachin made the sport famous. There are many adjectives and superlatives that have been used to describe Sachin Tendulkar. Teenage sensation Shafali couldn’t have asked for a better moment in her life when she met Sachin in Australia.
The 16-year-old Indian woman cricketer clicked a memorable picture with Sachin Tendulkar and then uploaded it on her social media account with a heartwarming caption.
“The reason I took up this game was because of Sachin sir. My whole family has not just idolised and but literally worshipped him. Today is a special day for me that I got to meet my childhood hero. It was a dream come true for me. ?? @sachintendulkar,” Shafali’s caption read.

Shafali hogged the limelight when she broke legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s long-standing record on November 9, 2019, and thus becoming the youngest Indian cricketer to score a half-century in the international cricket. She scored a scintillating 49-ball 73 against West Indies, that was one to remember.
In September 2019, Shafali Verma announced her arrival in the shortest format of the game during the team’s series against South Africa. She made her World T20I debut for India against South Africa on 24 September 2019. Shafali Verma will soon be seen in cricketing action at the 2020 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup.
