Shafali Verma has been one of the greatest finds for the Indian Women’s National Cricket Team. She had an amazing run in the recently-held ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in Australia as she has gone on to establish herself as one of the most fearsome batswomen in women’s international cricket.
Shafali has earned a lot of praise for her batting skills from fans and experts alike and has also garnered comparisons with the likes of legendary world-class batsmen, Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar.

However, Shafali had a final to forget as she dropped a vital catch of Alyssa Healy in the opening moments of the final and also got out on two runs chasing a mammoth total of 185 runs.
Shafali became the youngest-ever player (Men’s and Women’s), to feature in a World Cup final on Sunday when she took to the field against Australia.
Shafali Verma Shouldn’t Be Compared To Anyone: Ashwani Kumar
“I know this comparison is overwhelming but Shafali is Shafali. Let her be first Shafali rather than calling her lady Sehwag or lady Sachin of Indian cricket,” Ashwani Kumar, Shafali Verma’s coach, told TOI.
“Shafali is blessed with strong arms and shoulders and boasts excellent hand-eye coordination, which leaves little margin of error for bowlers. I find this comparison a bit unfair,” he added.

India Lose Out The Final To Australia
Team India finished as runners-up in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 in Australia. Having had an unbeaten run until the final, the Women in Blue collapsed drastically in the final.

Their bowling was under fire from the very first delivery and that continued until the end as Australia put up a mammoth total of 184 runs for the loss of four wickets in their 20 overs.
The chase always seemed an uphill climb and the Indian batswomen crumbled under immense pressure. The entire team was bundled up for 99 runs and Australia won the game by 85 runs.
And, this is Australia’s 5th T20 World Cup title.
