At 16 years and 40 days old, India’s teenage opener Shafali Verma on Sunday became the youngest player ever (female or male) to feature in a Cricket World Cup Final (across both 20 & 50 over tournaments). As soon as Shafali took the field at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in the all-important Women’s T20 World Cup final vs Australia on Sunday, she made the record her own.

Australia Pile-Up A Huge Score On The Board
The Aussie women put up a giant total on the scoreboard batting first. They started the game in explosive fashion and finished for 184-4 in their 20 overs. Openers, Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney both scored half-centuries to give Australia a solid start and solid finish.

If India win this game, it will be their first-ever World Cup title. If Australia manage to beat India, they will go on to win their 5th T20 World Cup.
The second innings will be all the more exciting as the two giants of world cricket clash against each other on the grandest of stages.
