"Take The Virus Seriously": Shahid Afridi Appeals To Pakistan After 10 Players Test Positive

Pakistan cricket team is the worst-hit with COVID-19. After Shadab Khan, Haider Ali and Haris Rauf had tested positive, seven more Pakistan players have tested positive, taking the total to 10 ahead of their much-anticipated England tour. The names, who have been tested positive include, Kashif Bhatti, Mohammad Hasnain, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Rizwan, Mohammad Hafeez, Wahab Riaz, and Imran Khan.
The cricket board had said that at least three players had returned positive test after being asymptomatic while one of the support staff has also been tested positive. However, Waqar Younis, Shoaib Malik and Cliffe Deacon still remain to be tested.

Shahid Afridi, had contracted the virus earlier, and later in a video message said that he is recovering well. The former Pakistan captain has not prayed for the well-being of the national team players and urged his countrymen to take the virus seriously after some serious development in the cricket team.
“Prayers for quick recovery of Fakhar, Imran Khan, Kashif, Hafeez, Hasnain, Rizwan and Wahab and Malang. Please take good care. Appeal to all Pakistanis, please take the virus seriously!” Afridi tweeted.

Despite the players being contracted with the virus, their board looks optimistic about the England tour. The tour is discussed to be organised in a bio-secure environment and the Pakistan camp might opt for a few substitutes in these crisis situation.
Pakistan will tour England for a Test and T20I series, which will get underway from July 30 with the T20I series concluding in the first week of September.
