Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has revealed the conversation between him  and Naveen-ul-Haq after the game between Galle Gladiators and Kandy Tuskers in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) on Monday.

The game was marred by the heated altercation between Naveen and Mohammad Amir before Shahid Afridi intervened at the end. The incident started after the 18th over. Amir and Naveen were involved in a verbal exchange after the end of the over in which the former had hit the latter for a four.

Naveen had allegedly abused Amir and it led to ugly scenes as both came face to face before being separated by others. The drama continued in the 20th over when Amir hit the 21-year old for a six. And after the game ended, the altercation only elevated. Amir was furious with the conduct of the Tuskers pacer and was seen saying something to him angrily.

Other players had to intervene again to bring the situation under control. But that was not the end of the drama. Gladiators captain Shahid Afridi decided to talk to Naveen for his conduct when the players were greeting each other after the game. Shahid Afridi’s facial expression made it clear that he was not at all impressed with Naveen.

Shahid Afridi reveals the conversation:

On Tuesday, Shahid Afridi took to Twitter to reveal the conversation between him and Naveen after the game. The Pakistan legend revealed that he had advised the Afghanistan player to just play the game and not indulge in abusive talk, tweeting:

“My advise to the young player was simple, play the game and don’t indulge in abusive talk. I have friends in Afghanistan team and we have very cordial relations. Respect for teammates and opponents is the basic spirit of the game.”
