Pakistan’s former skipper Shahid Afridi autobiography is making the headlines since his book has been recently launched. Afridi was known to be the most explosive batsman of his time and always loved to hit the ground running from the get-go. The talisman batsman always had a penchant of scoring his runs at a healthy strike rate. Subsequently, he had scored 37-ball hundred against Sri Lanka in 1996.

Meanwhile, that record had stood tall for a period of 17 years. However, when Shahid Afridi had scored that blistering hundred, it was claimed by everyone that he is 16 years. In fact, Afridi birthday is recorded as 1 March 1980.

Afridi tries to clear the confusion.

Meanwhile, Shahid Afridi has now revealed that he was born in 1975. Afridi claimed that he was 19 when he had scored that record century against Sri Lanka. Interestingly, Afridi had scored that hundred on 4th October 1996. Thus, as per the original birth date of Shahid Afridi, he must have been 21 years of age and not 19.

Shahid Afridi wrote in his autobiography Game-Changer, “Also, for the record, I was just nineteen, and not sixteen like they claim. I was born in 1975. So, yes, the authorities stated my age incorrectly.”

Boom-Boom Afridi also shared his excitement after his book made a good entry into the market. The book is making the headlines and Afridi gave his gratitude to all the fans. Afridi asked his fans to not go for the media hype.

To appreciate what @wajskhan & I have penned in my bio, please READ THE BOOK (yet to get my 1st copy!) If I’ve been tough on someone, I’ve given them credit where it’s due! #TruthFirst #HopeNotOut”

Meanwhile, Shahid Afridi had also recently played in the Pakistan Super League for Multan Sultans. The leg-spinner scalped 10 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 6.74.
