Shai Hope Named Windies Cricketer of the Year

Windies middle order batsman Shai Hope has been named as the Windies Male Cricketer of the Year Award. Meanwhile, Stafanie Taylor bagged the award for the Windies Female Cricketer of the Year. Hope has also won the Test Cricketer of the Year award for his wonderful exploits all through the year.
He was also the ODI Cricketer of the year. The Awards ceremony, which was the 6th joint awards by Cricket West Indies and West Indies Players Association was held to recognize the achievements of the Windies cricketers through the course of the year.
He amassed 773 runs in Tests at an average of 45.47. Two centuries and three half-centuries also came in the process. He was slightly ahead of Roston Chase who made 740 runs at an average of 43.52. He struck a couple of the fifties and centuries each during the process.
In ODI’s Hope scored 600 runs at an average of 33.33 which is the highest for a Windies batsman this year. It included 4 fifty plus scores. Meanwhile, Taylor bagged the ODI Women’s Cricketer of the year from Windies. She scored 296 runs at an average of 32.88.
Evin Lewis who has been a tremendous find for the Windies in the shortest format bagged the t20 Cricketer of the Year Award. The southpaw scored 357 runs in 9 T20I games. Meanwhile, the Women’s T20 Cricketer of the Year was won by Deandra Dottin. The Umpire of the year went to Joel Wilson.
