The latest skipper of the Bangladesh Cricket Team Mahmudullah Riyad wants his team to draw motivation from the absence of Shakib Al Hasan. He wants the team to take the challenge as an opportunity to make things fall in place. Riyad believes that playing for the country in an ultimate honour, which should be fulfilled by giving your best.
The Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has failed to alert the officials after receiving the calls and messages from the bookie. As a result, the International Cricket Council has banned him for a couple of years, of which, 1 year was suspended. It means that Shakib has to stay away from the upcoming series against India followed by IPL and ICC T20I World Cup 2020.

Speaking of the same, Mahmudullah Riyad quoted that the team should take the absence of Shakib Al Hasan as a motivation to make the difference. Further, he wants the youngsters to take the opportunity and cement their position in the team by performing at the big stage.
“We have to play with our heart for the country,” Mahmudullah said. “I think this [Shakib’s absence] will work as motivation for us. I think there’s no greater honour than playing for the country. The responsibility to lead the side lies with me, so I will try to give it my all.
“The statistics don’t lie. It is a tough ask, but it is not impossible. We have to perform as a team, and ensure we take advantage of every opportunity.”
