Shane Warne's Gin Distillery To Produce Hand Sanitisers Amid Coronavirus Outbreak

Former Australian skipper Shane Warne has revealed that his gin distillery, ‘SevenZeroEight’ will help in the production of hand sanitiser for hospitals, to contribute to a good cause when the world has been rocked by the COVID-19 Coronavirus.

Warne, who represented Australia in 145 Test matches, and 194 ODIs after his retirement started SevenZeroEight, and now the distillery, who primarily produces gin, will also help to produce hand sanitisers.

The Coronavirus pandemic has gripped the whole world, and its effects have been felt in Australia as well. To date, there have been 565 cases of the deadly disease reported, with six fatalities.

In such challenging times, Warne is willing to lend a helping hand to his nation, by doing his bit for the society.

Shane Warne’s gin distillery to produce hand sanitisers:

A press release shared by the 50-year-old on his Instagram page confirmed the same.

“Shane Warne and his founders, which included 2 prominent WA surgical specialists, decided to stop production of their award-winning SevenZeroEight gin to shift to producing medical grade 70 per cent alcohol hand sanitiser until further notice,” read the statement.

“An agreement has already been made to provide a continuous supply to two nominated Western Australian hospitals at cost,” it added.

Furthermore, the veteran spin legend stated the issue himself, adding that he was delighted on being able to contribute to a good cause.

“This is a challenging time for Australians and we all need to do what we can to help our healthcare system combat this disease and save lives. I am happy SevenZeroEight has the ability to make this shift and encourage others to do the same,” Warne said.
