Shane Warne, former Australian leg-spinner and the current mentor of Rajasthan Royals, has picked defending champions Mumbai Indians, three-time winner Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, and Rajasthan Royals as his top-4 contenders to qualify for the playoffs the 2020 edition of the IPL.
Rajasthan Royals are the only side that has remained unbeaten in the Dream11 IPL thus far. After having started off their campaign with a brilliant win over Chennai Super Kings, the Royals proceeded to nail the highest-ever run-chase in the tournament’s history against Kings XI Punjab.
Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, notched up back-t0-back wins before falling short against SunRisers Hyderabad in their last fixture.
Defending champions Mumbai Indians and three-time winners Chennai Super Kings are yet to find their stride in this years’ IPL. Both sides have played three games, managing just one win and two defeats.
While Mumbai Indians went down to CSK and RCB, the MS Dhoni-led unit has been found wanting in the past two games as their batting-unit has struggled to find any sort of momentum in run-chases following their win over MI in the tournament opener.
This is what Shane Warne had to say when asked about his top-4 sides to qualify for the playoffs during an exclusive interview with PTI-
“Four teams, Rajasthan Royals. I think it”s hard to go past Chennai Super Kings, they will always be there or thereabouts. I think Mumbai Indians will be there too, they have got a very well-balanced squad and the fourth spot, I will probably have to lean towards Delhi Capitals. DC has got a lot of firepower so I think they”ll be the fourth team,”
